This collection of works slowly returns the site of the National Art School back to nature, nature that existed before the site was constructed. The works transform the original function of the walls (restricting people) to what the site represents now (creativity and freedom).
They are made from different fabric and textile materials. I have used variety of different techniques, to capture the details and uniqueness of the flowers.
The flora extends from the wall, creating an illusion of nature leaking through the site. Each work is at different stages of growth.
They are inspired from Sydney’s native flora, descriptions and images of what the flora might have been and mainly my images of close ups of Australian flowers. I didn’t want them to be fully representational of a specific flower or plant but to mainly represent nature.
