Ashfield trams before they disappeared c1930, Acrylic and pastel on canvas, 61cm x 91.4cm

These works explores the relationship between living in Ashfield 100 years ago compared to living here now. It interprets the concept of my ancestors living just blocks away, walking the same streets, playing sports on the same ovals, seeing the same buildings. I can see from my house the hall my Great, Great Uncles attended for their lodge meetings, The Church where my Great, Great Aunty prayed. But I can only imagine the Town Hall where they worked, or Central Street where they once lived, as it is now replaced by Ashfield Mall.
